Stop NY Corruption Issues Statement
on
NYS Independent Redistricting Commission Vote
Bobbie Anne Cox, spokesperson for Stop NY Corruption and a Westchester County based attorney who specializes in constitutional law, issued the following statement:
“Today’s vote and resulting Congressional map issued by the New York State Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) is a step in the right direction in an otherwise fractured redistricting process that was technically completed in the summer of 2022. While we disagree with the reopening of the redistricting process, today’s vote is a bipartisan attempt to bring this decade’s redistricting to a long overdue conclusion. Stop NY Corruption calls on the State Legislature to approve this map as drawn, without any changes or amendments.”
